Weinkulturweg – Wine CultureTrail  Length: 1,8 km

Starting point: Kesselstatt-Chapel 55 Displays show many
information about wine. Explaining more than 20 wine
varieties, working in the vineyards, cellar technology, red
wines, champagne, history of wine and wine quality. Old machines as well as cultural products and reliefs of the sculptor August Lebenstedt  such as the “patron Remigius”, “Grape Madonna” and “ Jesus christ in the   winepress” make the trail  attractive. The trail is nearby the village.

Wandern
 

 Panorama tour and slate path Length: 9 km

Starting point: Europa-Brunnen. The tour leads through the vineyards “Kirchlay” and “Paradies” to the slate path. Then passing the Mountain Chapel to the “Steffensberg-view” and to Landal Mont Royal holiday resort . From Mont Royal the further trail passes the vineyards “Steffensberg” and “Letterlay” back to the village.Slope: 200 m,

Special: The slate path shows 4 displays:
- slate as life basis of the winemakers in the Moselle Valley
- slate as building material for roof and wall
- character of the Moselle Valley
- formation of the “Rheinisches Schiefergebirge”
History: the Mountain Chapel was built in 1882, renovated in 1968, sgraffito, relief and altar by August Lebenstedt (sculptor from Kröv); impressive panorama

Nice tour through the vineyards leading through “Viehbach” passing the jewish cemetery to the Wine Cultural Trail, “Kesselstatt-chapel” and back

Forest and Panorama Trail          Length: 9 km
Starting point: crossing “Kordel” at Landal Mont Royal holiday resort
The Forest Trail starts on top of the mountain and leads along “Burgberg” (a celtic refuge built in 500 bc), crossing “Lämmerbach” (well known as  the valley of butterflies) and along the 50 th Parallel further to “Haselbach” and Mountain Chapel. Then back to the village.

Forest Trail         Length: 4,5 km
Starting point: Sportzentrum “Kröver Berg”
The tour leads over quiet  forest trails.

Mountain Trail                 Length: 7,5 km
Starting point: Sportzentrum “Kröver Berg”
The tour leads along forest trails to the resting place “Hähnchen´s Born” to the slate path and the “Moselsteig” M

Trail around the Monastery  Wolf          Length: 13 km
Starting point: Europa-Brunnen (13)
The trail leads you along the riverside to Kinheim then over the bridge to the resting place “Römerhang”, following the “Gluckerter Bach” (under and above the wooden brigde you can find remains of tow old mills in the rock). Walking further to the mountain hill you see remains of a Roman villa. Further you pass the “Kröver Felssturz” and walk along the ruins of the Monastery Wolf (an ancient pilgrimage cloister built in the 12 th century). After crossing the brigde in Wolf a new path leads through the vineyards . The first 250 meters are very steep but then an easy path leads back to Kröv. The tour offers fantastic views.

Trail to Kinheim and Sucellus Trail as addition                 Length: 7 km + 4 km
Along the riverside the tour leads along route 8 to Kinheim and back along path 13 through the vineyards to Kröv.
In Kinheim you can add the Sucellus Trail. Starting at Borngasse the route leads along path 7
and Z21  through the Kinheimer vineyard “Rosenberg” over the bridge to Lösnich. In Lösnich you walk through the historical town center and can visit the St. Vitus Church. At the end of the village turn right to the Burgberg  then follow the trail and turn left to the finds of an Roman villa and the place where the statue of Sucellus, the celtic God of wine was found. Then back to Kinheim crossing the only 4 meters wide brigde.

Hiking Trail – path to the Moselsteig trail M
The hiking trail leads you to the Moselsteig trail M, the slape trail as well as “Hähnchen`s Born” and the Mountain Chapel.

Round trail through the Mont Royal Fortress Ruins        Length: 4 km
Starting point: parking place behind  Land Mont Royal holiday resort.
You can also start down in the village, then start at Kesselstatt Chapel and follow path 8 and then 9 up to the parking place    Length: 3,6 km
Die round trail leads through a part of the ancient fortress Mont Royal, built 1687 – 92 by Louis XIV, destroyed in 1697. Mont Royal was one of the biggest fortresses of the 17 th century and was for one decade the base of operations of the army of Louis XIV.. It provided space for 12.000 soldiers and 3000 horses.
Along the trail you will find several displays with plans and many information about the ancient fortress. The two viewing points “Rabenwerk” and “Eulenwerk” give impressive views of the Moselle Valley.
Level of difficulty: easy, good shoes and a pocket lamp to visit the old cellars vaults
                                (casemates), are recommended.

 Round trail over the Mont Royal              Length: 11 km
Starting point: crossing “Kordel” at Landal Mont Royal holiday resort
The round trail 10 gives impressive views of the Moselle Valley to Burg, Enkirch, Kövenig, Starkenburg, Traben-Trarbach, Gräfenburg, Wolf , Kröv and the nearby mountains of Hunsrück and Eifel
This trail leads through forest, vineyards and orchards and thrills with unique and charming viewing of the river and the landscape of the Moselle Valley.

Slope: 100 m
Refreshments: Restaurant at Landal Mont Royal holiday resort and restaurant at the                                                           airport Mont Royal
